Weight Loss, Dizziness, Fatigue, Possible Paranoia, Headaches?

by admin - February 27th, 2010. Filed under: Natural Weight Loss.

Okay, my mother is 53 years old. Never had perfect health, but not THAT bad. She was laid off work 15 months ago, and has since then developed:
Weight loss
Dizziness
Fatigue
She can’t even walk to the other side of the house without becoming excessively dizzy, and short of breath.
She has always had headaches, migraines, but they seem a lot worse lately.
She smokes a lot, as well. Coughing is a regular thing.
Paranoia might also figure into it. She tends to think everyone is talking about her behind her back, bad-mouthing her, or do things, hoping to make her life worse in some way. She over analyzes things, and it’s excessive and un natural.
She’s also lost all sense of responsibility. She hasn’t been working for the past 15 months, but doesn’t try to get a job. She blames it on her bad health, but she qualifies for food stamps and federal aid, but refuses to apply. It’s like she’s thrown her hands up, and said to hell with the world.
I’m thinking, a mix of depression/anxiety, but then I was also thinking Lung Cancer is a possibility, because she’s been smoking for 40 or so years, and has a pretty bad cough.
Any ideas?

Oh man, she it sounds like she’s in a bad place right now. I think there are a lot of things going on here. She definitely needs to get checked out for lung issues. Even if it’s not lung cancer, she might have some form of copd. That’s the first thing.
It sounds like she’s also suffering from depression and anxiety. That also needs to be taken care of. The paranoia can accompany anxiety. I had terrible anxiety awhile back and for me it came in the form of thinking that everyone hated me. I really thought that everyone thought I was worthless. It wasn’t until I came out of it that I realized how crazy that was. It didn’t matter how many friends I had I just couldn’t see it. Your mother’s attitude can be a part of this.
Another health problem I would like you to consider is celiac disease. It’s an autoimmune disease that is caused by gluten intolerance. It can develop at any time in your life and is often triggered by some event like pregnancy or an illness. Sometimes it’s there all along and something triggers it to worsen pretty suddenly. The symptoms you mentioned: Weight loss, dizziness, fatigue, headaches, anxiety, depression, are all common symptoms of celiac disease. It’s extremely common; 1 in 133 people have it and many people remain undiagnosed. Physicians usually only think of it if there are digestive symptoms, but many patients don’t have any at all. It’s definitely something I want you to consider. The cure is a gluten free diet, so it’s an easy thing to fix if that is her problem. It was the cause of my anxiety and it went away within a week on the diet, so I definitely recommend it for someone with anxiety and depression issues. The lung issues are very likely due to smoking, so that’s another issue.
Do you think there is any way you can convince her to go to the doctor? She really needs to be seen about these symptoms. http://www.celiac.com/articles/1106/1/Ce…http://www.csaceliacs.org/celiac_symptom…

I have been through it all and know what’s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can’t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I’ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.
Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.
First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can’t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising…
This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it’s good for the heart.
However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It’s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I’ve found a great addition to help any one out, it’s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don’t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don’t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn’t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It’s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace dot com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it’s the best pill I’ve tried and I’ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn’t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I’ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.
Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.
